Terms of Use

Visitors. These terms apply to everyone who uses the Service, as notice: a link to them appears on every page, and the Service is made available on the basis of that notice.

Members. When you join, you accept the whole of these terms once: by ticking the acceptance box, which is never ticked for you, or, when you join with Google, LinkedIn or Microsoft, by continuing after the notice that says so. That acceptance covers every section, including the licence (section 9), the restrictions on artificial intelligence and competing products (section 12), the indemnity (section 14), disputes (section 19) and language (section 20).

Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for it, and “you” includes that organisation.

Changes. We may change these terms. Each version carries a version number and an effective date, and earlier versions are kept unchanged. The version in force applies to your use of the Service from its effective date, and the acceptance you gave when you joined extends to these terms as updated from time to time. If you do not agree to a version, stop using the Service; a member may also delete their account.

The Service provides general information about energy markets, projects and policy. It is not investment, financial, legal, engineering, tax, accounting or other professional advice, and it is not an offer, solicitation or recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, asset or interest, or to enter into any transaction.

• Nothing on the Service is a recommendation or an opinion on the merits of any project, company or investment.
• Figures that are modelled, estimated, projected or otherwise forward-looking are labelled as such. They rest on assumptions that may prove wrong, and they are neither forecasts nor guarantees of any outcome.
• Rankings, comparisons and summaries describe the data as compiled. They are not ratings or endorsements.
• Your use of the Service creates no advisory, fiduciary or client relationship. Studies and advisory work are provided only under a separate written agreement.

You are responsible for your own decisions. Before relying on any information, carry out your own due diligence, check it against the original source and take professional advice suited to your circumstances.

Data on the Service is compiled from public and third-party sources. Each is named on the pages that use it and in the register of sources, with the date it was last retrieved or updated. The principal sources include the KAPSARC Renewable Projects Tracker (CC BY-NC 4.0); the project register of the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC); NASA POWER solar and meteorological data (public domain); the IEA CCUS Projects Database and the IEA Hydrogen Production and Infrastructure Projects Database (CC BY 4.0); Natural Earth boundaries (public domain); and basemap tiles from Esri, HERE and Garmin with OpenStreetMap contributors.

• Data is provided “as is” and “as available”. It may contain errors or omissions, may be incomplete or out of date, and may lag its source by the time a refresh takes.
• Sources sometimes disagree. Where they do, the page says which one it shows. That choice is not a statement that the other source is wrong.
• Project locations are approximate and shown for orientation only. They are not surveyed positions and must not be used for navigation, engineering, land or legal purposes.
• Third-party data remains the property of its owners and is used under their terms, which continue to apply to it.

To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Renewable Vision gives no warranty, express or implied, that the Service or its data is accurate, complete, current, reliable, uninterrupted or free of harmful components, or that it is fit for any particular purpose. To report an error, use the corrections page.

Renewable Vision is an independent company. Unless the Service expressly says otherwise, it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or acting for any ministry, government body or regulator, the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC), the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC), NASA, the International Energy Agency (IEA), or any company, developer or project shown on the Service. Naming an organisation, or using its data, implies no relationship with it and no approval by it.

Third-party names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify them and their data.

Maps on the Service use boundaries, place names and basemaps from the cited sources. Their depiction of any border, territory or name is for illustration only and implies no position on the legal status of any country, territory or area, or on the delimitation of any frontier or boundary.

• Give accurate, current information when you join, use your real name, and keep your details up to date.
• An account is for one person. Do not share it, your password or your API keys, and do not let anyone else use them.
• Keep your sign-in details secure, and tell us promptly at contact@renewablevision.com.sa if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• We may suspend or close an account, revoke API keys or limit access, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe these terms have been breached or the account is being misused, or if the law requires it.

You may delete your account at any time from your account page. Sections 8 to 21 continue to apply after your use of the Service ends.

Renewable Vision owns, or is licensed to use, the Service and its content: the selection, arrangement and compilation of data, the databases, the analysis, calculations and models, the text, design, layout, software and code, the maps, charts and graphics, and the name “Renewable Vision”, its Arabic form and its logo. They are protected by the Copyright Law of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by international treaties and by the other laws that protect compilations, databases and trademarks.

Third-party data and material remain the property of their owners. All rights not expressly granted in these terms are reserved.

Subject to these terms, Renewable Vision grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable licence to access and use the Service for your personal use, or for internal reference within your organisation: reading, analysing and citing its content in your own work. The content is licensed to you, not sold.

• Open licences. Where the Service states that data is offered under an open licence, that licence governs your use of that data to the extent it grants you rights. Renewable Vision’s own compilations are offered under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International licence (CC BY-NC 4.0) unless stated otherwise, credited as section 10 describes. Third-party data keeps its publisher’s licence, and where that licence is non-commercial, so is any reuse.
• Commercial use, including use inside a business beyond reference, loading data into products or systems, and redistribution, requires a data licence. The licence types and the request form are on the data licensing page.
• Downloads and exports are licensed to the member who makes them, are not transferable, and must not be passed on except as these terms or a licence allow.

This licence ends automatically if you breach these terms. The permission in section 10, and uses permitted by law, are not affected.

You may quote, cite and share figures, charts, maps and short extracts from the Service, and publish screenshots of it, in commentary, research, teaching, journalism and news reporting, and in internal documents, on these conditions:

• Credit Renewable Vision clearly, next to the material: “Source: Renewable Vision, renewablevision.com.sa”, with the date the data is as of or the date you accessed it, and name the original publisher where the page names one.
• Keep figures, charts and maps as published, and do not present an altered version as Renewable Vision’s. Where an open licence allows adaptation, say clearly what you changed.
• Keep the attribution, source lines, dates and labels such as “modelled” or “indicative” that accompany the material.
• Do not use the material out of context or in a way that misleads anyone about what it shows.
• Do not suggest that Renewable Vision endorses you, your product, your conclusions or any third party.
• Do not use the material to disparage or defame any person or organisation.

The name “Renewable Vision” may be used to credit the source as described here. Any other use of the name, and any use of the logo, needs our written permission. Ready-made attribution lines in Arabic and English are on the citation page.

Nothing in these terms limits uses permitted by law, such as quotation for news reporting, research, teaching or criticism.

You must not, and must not help anyone else to:

• scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download content or data by automated means, except through the API, the published bulk downloads or a data licence, and within their limits;
• circumvent or test membership gates, rate limits, API-key limits or any other access control or security measure;
• share, sell, resell, rent or redistribute accounts, API keys, exports or data, or make them available to others, except as these terms or a licence allow;
• copy, frame or mirror the Service or a substantial part of it, except through the published embeds;
• reverse engineer or decompile the Service, or attempt to extract its source code or models, except to the extent the law expressly permits;
• introduce malware, overload or disrupt the Service, or probe it for vulnerabilities other than under the disclosure process on the security page;
• use the Service unlawfully, including in breach of the Anti-Cyber Crime Law, the Personal Data Protection Law or the Copyright Law of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, or in a way that infringes anyone’s rights.

Without a written licence from Renewable Vision, you must not use the Service, its content, its data, its exports or its API responses:

• to train, fine-tune, evaluate or benchmark a machine-learning or artificial-intelligence model or system that is offered commercially, or to build a dataset for that purpose;
• to build, populate or improve a product or service that competes with the Service or substitutes for it.

This does not stop you from using an AI assistant to read, summarise or analyse pages for your own use under section 9, or from citing the Service as section 10 allows.

The API, the client libraries, the MCP server, the embeds and the feeds are part of the Service. They are also governed by the developer documentation and the data licensing terms, including their rate limits and attribution rules. Keep API keys confidential. Embedded charts and maps must keep the attribution and the link back that the embed code includes. We may change, limit or withdraw any of these interfaces, or revoke a key, at any time.

You agree to indemnify Renewable Vision and its shareholders, directors, employees and contractors against any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Service or its content, or your infringement of any law or of anyone’s rights, including any claim by a third party arising from material you published using the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia:

• Renewable Vision is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, opportunity, goodwill or data, however it arises.
• Renewable Vision is not liable for any loss arising from a decision, investment, transaction or other action taken, or not taken, in reliance on the Service or its content.
• Renewable Vision is not liable for errors, omissions or delays in third-party data, or for the Service being unavailable.
• Renewable Vision’s total liability to you for all claims arising from or connected with the Service is limited to the greater of one hundred Saudi riyals (SAR 100) and the fees you paid Renewable Vision for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Service links to, and shows content from, websites and services run by others, including headlines from publishers’ feeds. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. A link or a headline is not an endorsement, and a headline is not a verified fact.

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the Service, including any dataset, feature or interface, at any time. We do not promise that the Service will be available at any particular time or without interruption.

Renewable Vision is not responsible for any delay in performing, or any inability to perform, that is caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including outages of networks, hosting or data providers, cyber-attacks, acts of government, war, civil unrest, epidemics and natural events.

These terms, and any dispute or claim arising from or connected with them or with the Service, including non-contractual disputes and claims, are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

A party raising a dispute will first send the other a written notice describing it, and both will try in good faith to settle it amicably within 30 days of that notice. Notices to Renewable Vision go to contact@renewablevision.com.sa.

A dispute not settled within that period will be decided by the competent courts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which have exclusive jurisdiction. The parties may instead agree in writing, after the dispute has arisen, to refer it to arbitration under the rules of the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration, seated in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Nothing in this section prevents either party from asking a competent court for urgent interim relief.

These terms are made in Arabic and English. If the two texts differ or conflict, the Arabic text prevails.

• Entire agreement. These terms, together with the documents referred to in section 1, are the entire agreement between you and Renewable Vision about the Service, and replace any earlier understanding about it.
• Severability. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it applies to the greatest extent permitted, and the rest of these terms remain in effect.
• No waiver. A delay in enforcing, or a decision not to enforce, any provision is not a waiver of it.
• Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms. Renewable Vision may transfer its rights and obligations to a successor or an affiliated company, or as part of a reorganisation, merger or sale of its business.
• Notices. We may give you notice by email to the address on your account, or by a notice on the Service. You may give us notice by email to contact@renewablevision.com.sa.
• Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
